April is National Poetry Month! & Baseball season begins!
hello folks! many updates.
The Wanderer Tour: from New York & Kentucky to California & Beyond was an amazing wild adventure! Special Thanks to fellow Wanderers Frank Messina, Tyrone Cotton, Andy Cook, & Christian Hansen for sharing the tour with us & to Robin, Bernie, & Isaiah Tichenor & to Dan & Mary Barth & David Minton & Dan Roberts & to all the open-hearted folks in Kentucky & California who came to our shows, listened to our radio programs, & welcomed us into their homes.
We love the beautiful nature & people of northern California.
We thank northern California radio stations KRUSH, KMUD, & KZYX&Z for playing our work, & Dan Roberts for recording our Saturday Afternoon Club in Ukiah show & for recording a 4-hour interview with us at his home in the redwood forest.
Ron's I WILL NOT BOW DOWN cd is presently #9 on KMUD's Top 30 cd list.
Ron's "Tapping My Own Phone" poem won both voting (People's Choice) & non-voting (Judge's Choice) categories in NYC's 2007 People's Choice Awards for Best Spoken Word Track.
During The Wanderer Tour recording, mixing, mastering was completed, by Jeff Carpenter at his Al Fresco Studio, for the new WALKING HOME: Frank Messina & Ron Whitehead with Sarah Elizabeth, Andy Cook, & Tyrone Cotton cd. photos, by Christian Hansen, from The Wanderer Tour Yosemite concert will be used for the cd. David Amram is writing a piece for the back cover.
WALKING HOME will be released in June. There will be release concerts in New York & Kentucky.
Sarah Elizabeth was recently featured in VELOCITY, the Courier-Journal's (Kentucky's main newspaper) weekly arts & culture newspaper.
Hope to see all of you at our PLOWED EARTH concert in Louisville, Kentucky at The Rudyard Kipling, April 14th, 2007. this will be an all ages show. bring the entire tribe.
Sarah will be in the recording studio throughout April & May working on two new solo cds. both cds will also include guest appearances by some of The Best singers & musicians on the planet. Sarah will release her two albums in September. my new book, THE WANDERER will be released in July. our Christmas album is scheduled for November release.
Many other exciting performance/tour, recording, writing projects are in the works so please stay tuned. Thanks!
